0108: The Islanders performing at Messuhalli, Helsinki, in 1964. By this time, Hasse had joined The Nameless on drums, and is here replaced by the powerful and dynamic Swedish drummer Kurre Mattson. Mattson had previously played with Swedish bands The Wild Ones and Jan Rohde and The Adventurers, touring in Finland several times. Left to right: Pepe Willberg, Kurre Mattson, Kaj Wallin and Stig Selin. Pepe, Kurre and Kaj were soon to form Jormas (at first called The Beatmakers) together with singer Ralle Wikström and guitarist Seppo Keurulainen, who, in early 1966 was replaced by Hasse Walli on lead guitar. (Notice the right hand position of bass player Kaj Wallin. He was the first bass player in Finland to abandon the pick, playing the strings with the finger tips, which is standard today.)
